The Brazilian economy has faced a critical challenge for decades: productivity stagnation, largely due to the lack of qualification of the population in line with the current needs of the job market. One of the main obstacles is the high dropout rate in high school, a reality that needs to be transformed to elevate economic and social development.

The research "Combating Dropout in High School: Challenges and Opportunities," conducted by Firjan SESI in collaboration with UNDP, revealed that over half a million young people over 16 years old drop out of school annually. The problem is more alarming in more vulnerable social strata: only 46% of the poorest population completes Basic Education.

Despite being challenging, this scenario presents opportunities for significant transformations. The research identifies favorable experiences, both in Brazil and abroad, providing valuable insights for educational managers. The study also offers guidance for implementing policies aimed at reducing the problem.

Among the challenges presented in the study are age-grade distortion, low learning outcomes, social and economic inequality, lack of career guidance, and, consequently, low student engagement in their studies.

The research demonstrates initiatives that can play an essential role in combating dropout, including financial support, innovative learning environments, support for school management, teacher appreciation, and transition and inclusion projects into the workforce.
These strategies aim to keep students motivated, providing an educational experience more connected to reality and aligned with their professional aspirations.

The report reveals that six out of ten Brazilians complete high school by the age of 24. If the rate were similar to Chile's (93.4%), the country could save approximately R$ 135 billion per year, bringing a positive economic impact through more inclusive and effective education.
In the face of these challenges, an innovative and inclusive educational ecosystem like Gedui can play a crucial role in transforming the Brazilian educational scenario. By presenting technological solutions, it can help combat age-grade distortion, promote engaging learning methods, and provide support and training for teachers.

We can contribute to creating a stronger educational foundation and, consequently, reducing dropout rates. Investing in education is undoubtedly a fundamental step to boost the future of Brazil and ensure that the next generation is prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

How can innovative and inclusive solutions contribute to transforming the Brazilian educational scenario and effectively combating school dropout, preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century?
